Printed on high-resolution 3D printers using high-quality resins. As with every other 3D-printed kit, this kit may require some minor sanding, gap filling, and primer application before painting.

Each 3D-printed kit will be shipped in parts (unless otherwise specified) to prevent possible damage during transit and allow more precise painting of some features that would be difficult to paint on assembled statues.

The Legend of Tomoe. 

This piece is rooted in a 17th-century tragic tale of Naisuke, a lonely fisherman who caught a remarkable koi with a tomoe (comma-shaped) pattern on her scales. Unwilling to sell her, he kept her. Over the years, they formed an uncanny bond — she grew to a large size, ate meals with him, and seemed to understand his very soul.

But as Naisuke grew older, he met and married a woman. Shortly after the wedding, while Naisuke was out fishing for the night, a beautiful, mysterious woman in a wave-patterned kimono barged into the house. Heartbroken and furious, she confronted the lone bride, threatening to call a giant wave to wash their entire home into the pond if she didn't leave immediately, before vanishing.

When Naisuke returned, he laughed off his terrified wife's story. But the very next night on the water, the pond grew violently rough. The enormous koi leaped onto Naisuke's boat for one final, tragic farewell before slipping back into the depths. Naisuke rushed home in a panic to check the holding pond, but his beloved Tomoe was completely gone, never to be seen again.

The Sculpt: A Moment of Separation

For this piece, we wanted to capture the emotional and supernatural climax of her story. The sculpt depicts Tomoe in the exact moment of separating from her koi self. Set deep beneath the water's surface, you'll see Tomoe submerged alongside the massive koi. With only one hand delicately lingering on its head, she is finally letting go.

異体同心 (Itai Dōshin)

To anchor the emotion of this scene, we based the design on the beautiful Japanese four character idiom (yojijukugo), Itai Dōshin.

Translating to "Different bodies, same mind" or "Two bodies, one heart," it felt like the perfect fit for this piece. Even as Tomoe separates from her animal form in the water, she and the koi are still sharing the same spirit.
